Protect Your Identity

Parts of a Digital Citizen Ever wonder what the internet has to say about you? A Google search might show you a lot you don’t realize is on the internet about you.

Today Fort Zumwalt School District is encouraging students, staff and parents to protect their personal brand. It’s important as our youngest students take on a larger role as digital citizens that they protect their private information. Middle and high school students need to understand that this brand is often researched by athletic coaches and college recruiters. It can be researched by the their friends’ parents and the parents of someone they are dating. It is public and permanent, to be viewed by anyone. A social media check has become a routine part of the job application process. So protect your brand by leaving a positive digital footprint.

Here are some resources for parents so you can continue the conversation with your kids.
