How can I learn more about Healthy Schools $0 copay flu shots? 

The district has partnered with Healthy Schools to bring flu shots to our students who are signed up for it this fall, as well as vaccinations to 7th and 11th graders who sign up for them in the spring. The CDC recommends everyone 6 months of age and older get a flu vaccine every season. This program allows parents to sign their child up to be vaccinated by Healthy Schools at school for a $0 copay. Use the button at top right to sign up.

How do I complete the annual back-to-school paperwork?

Online registration through the parent portal opened July 12 and can be accessed through the app. While some online forms cover your entire family, others are required once for each of your children, so be sure the process is complete for each of your students. For most families, there is no longer any need to print forms.

How much for lunch? 

Elementary lunches are $2.40. Breakfasts are $1.50.

Middle and High School lunches are $2.60. Breakfasts are $1.50. Please note that a la carte items are available at various prices at middle and high school students. See the full price list.

 

Where can I find a supply list?

Lists grades K-8 are organized by school at right. High school students will receive information the first day of classes. Freshmen might receive it on transition day.

Where do I find Kindergarten, Sixth Grade or Freshmen transition information?

Watch your school's website, your e-mail inbox and your snail mailbox for information from teachers and administrators regarding these events. 


How do I keep up with my child's school and the district?

There are lots of ways to keep up with your schools. Download the Fort Zumwalt App. Download Tyler 360 to have the parent portal at your fingertips. Keep up with principal's newsletters and Twitter feeds. Each school provides a Channel Guide to keep connected.


What do I do if the bus is late?

The first three days of school can mean a longer ride as students and drivers get in the new routine. In the morning, keep your cell phone close as our Transportation Department will use School Messenger to contact you concerning an especially late bus.

 

In the afternoon, elementary routes can take a bit longer than usual as our newest students learn how to ride the bus. Please remember Kindergartners will not be dropped at a stop where there is no adult or sibling to pick them up. Please allow for the extra time students will need to find their bus number and get on board, as well as the extra time our drivers and teachers take to make sure all riders are unloaded at the correct stop.

 

Should you become concerned, and neighbors haven’t seen the bus yet, it is best to make your first phone call to your school office and let staff get in touch with our Transportation team. Dispatchers are in constant communication with our drivers and our GPS system can tell staff where your bus is on its route.

 

Usually by Day 4 (Monday, Aug. 20), routes are running close to on-time as students are used to their stops.

 
I live less than a mile from school, but still need my child to ride the bus.  What do I do?
Please note that transportation for less than a mile is limited and not guaranteed due to bus capacity limits. Any parents living less than a mile who would like their child to be considered for bus service must first submit a completed Less Than a Mile form to the office no later than August 1, 2018. You must submit a request even if you had this service the previous school-year. All requests will be processed in the order received until the buses are at capacity. Requests after August might take several days to process for service. Submitting a request does not guarantee that your child has a seat on the bus. Please wait for confirmation from our transportation department before putting your child on the bus. 

How do I sign up for the Parent Portal?

The Parent Portal requires you to appear in the office with your ID so staff can ensure your right to access student records. Printable Portal Form

 

How can I learn more about Peachjar?

Peachjar provides e-flyers right to your e-mail account, rather than stuffing papers in students’ backpacks. It offers clickable sign-up links as well as options for how often you are contacted by e-mail. Flyers available to your school can be accessed through the building website just by clicking the peach at the bottom of the page. Watch for information from outside enrichment providers as well as your school and its organizations. If you have deleted the e-mail with your user name and password, reset your password or create an account, which will allow you to set preferences for e-mail notifications.
