Fort Zumwalt once again will be well-represented at the annual Missouri Music Educators' Association Conference in January. The South High Chamber Choir, under the direction of Jason Martin, and the North Middle Eighth Grade Concert Band, under the direction of Patrick Stewart, were chosen to perform at the conference. There were hundreds of submissions in several categories from ensembles ranging from K-12 ensembles to university groups. Only 32 ensembles were selected to perform. It is the equivalent of winning a state championship.

Directors can submit recordings of their ensembles to the Missouri Music Educators' Association leadership. The recordings are anonymously judged by an out-of-state panel to determine the best bands, jazz bands, orchestras, and choirs. Only the finest of those groups are selected to perform at the annual convention held in late January at Lake of the Ozarks.

Watch -- and listen -- for more from these ensembles as the year continues.
