With newly re-elected Board members Tommy George, Jr., and Mike MacCormack installed, the Board of Education set to work at the regular April meeting. The Board accepted the final results of the April 3 election, which included the Passage of Proposition 3 with 68 percent of the vote.

-Roofing at South High, West High and Mount Hope
-Painting, flooring and ceilings at Hawthorn, Mid Rivers, Pheasant Point and Westhoff
The Board approved plans for the two-phase expansion of Flint Hill. The first will include the small gym, clinic and classrooms for the fall of 2019. The second will be built in place of the mobile classrooms and is planned for Fall 2020.
New code requires the building include a storm shelter. Flint Hill is one of nine schools built on the same “footprint.” Architects shared with the Board that, to meet these legal requirements, the small gym, PE office, clinic, a special education suite and set of bathrooms will be constructed within the shelter area, providing adequate space for the building’s eventual capacity of 750 people.
