Frequently Asked Questions

What is ZumCare? ZumCare is a medical clinic serving Fort Zumwalt School District beginning Oct. 1, 2017. Operated by BarnesCare, a member of BJC, ZumCare offers convenient and quality acute care, preventive care and chronic condition management health services.

Who is eligible to use ZumCare? ZumCare is available for Fort Zumwalt School District’s benefit enrolled employees, their dependents over the age of 2 and pre-Medicare retirees. Patient’s will be required to present their Aetna medical ID card as proof of enrollment. Each month the clinic will be provided a list of employees enrolled in the plan. However, should there be a need to verify eligibility, the clinic may contact (with your permission) the Benefits Department for verification. As an example, say an employee just added a child to the coverage, but they have not received a new card yet. Rest assured, verification of coverage does not include a disclosure of why you are at the clinic for treatment. Sharing information of that sort would be a violation of federal law.
