SMS Families,
Spring is in full swing, and with it comes an exciting opportunity for our students to showcase all they’ve learned this year. Beginning at the end of the month, students will begin MAP testing. This is a chance for them to demonstrate their academic growth through months of hard work, dedication, and high-level learning. I’ve seen firsthand how committed students and staff have been throughout the school year, and I am confident they are prepared to succeed.
To help students be at their best, please continue encouraging them to get a good night's sleep, eat a healthy breakfast, and come to school each day ready to focus and do their best. A copy of the MAP testing schedule is attached to this email.
As we begin the fourth quarter, it's a great time to reflect on progress and finish the year strong. Whether through academic achievement, personal growth, or positive behavior, students can leave their mark in these final two months in many ways.
In our Leader in Me lessons, students recently explored Habit #5: Seek First to Understand, Then to Be Understood, a powerful reminder of the importance of empathy and listening. In the coming weeks, we’ll focus on Habit #6: Synergize, which teaches students the value of teamwork, embracing differences, and achieving shared goals. These habits directly support our Mustang Mission of building a Caring, Capable, Connected Community, and they guide our efforts as we work toward our academic and behavior goals together.
The SOS Club is hosting a fundraiser to spread positivity during MAP testing! For $2, you can send your child a testing buddy with a positive message! Please complete the form here: https://forms.gle/jpdUUA7LS7EL1Foz6 and turn the money into the main office or counseling office labeled with SOS Club + your name. Proceeds will go towards the SOS club and supporting new students at SMS! Reach out to Katie Schoeman (kschoeman@fz.k12.mo.us; 636-474-3563) with questions
