Thank you!

Volunteers and visitors make our school community stronger. Whether you become a screened volunteer to chaperone field trips, a classroom volunteer to assist at parties, or visit our building occasionally to have lunch with your student, we appreciate your time and your commitment to our school community.

What's the Difference?

Student safety is our number one priority. All visitors and volunteers will be vetted through the appropriate procedure depending on their access to students and level of responsibility. Please read below to learn the difference between our volunteer categories and building visitors.

Screened Volunteer

Screened Volunteer/Chaperone: A volunteer who may be periodically left alone with students or who may be granted access to some student education records.  Usually, screened volunteers commit to assist the school on a regular basis.  Examples of a screened volunteer include persons who regularly assist in the office or library, mentor or tutor students, coach or supervise a school-sponsored activity before or after school, or chaperone students on a field trip or an overnight trip.

Any volunteer that may be left alone with a student must complete the screening process and be approved prior to their volunteer service.

Screened Volunteers must complete the application below, submit registration with the Missouri Family Care and Safety Registry, and complete an FBI fingerprint background check using Fort Zumwalt code 1766. There is an approximate cost of $55 to complete these background checks. The District is no longer covering the cost of the required background checks. FBI background checks are valid for six years.

Classroom Volunteer

Classroom Volunteer: A volunteer, usually a parent or guardian, who assists the district staff and is under the direct control of district staff but is never left alone with a student.  Classroom Volunteers include room parents or persons who volunteer to assist with field days, class parties, or other special occasions.

All classroom volunteers will be screened upon entry by the office staff using Raptor Visitor Management System and will have a completed Missouri Case Net background check on file. Please have your valid driver's license or state ID available to be screened.

Building Visitors

Building Visitor: A building visitor is a person who comes into the building to enjoy lunch with a student, attend meetings while students are present, or other activities in which they are in the presence of district staff.

All visitors will be screened upon entry by the office staff using Raptor Visitor Management System. Please have your valid driver's license or state ID available to be screened.
