It’s a beautiful day when you celebrate leadership, innovation and collaboration!
Congratulations to Dr. Pat Brown, Executive Director of STEAM & CTE. The O’Fallon Chamber of Commerce and Industries has recognized him with one of the highest awards in the local business community, the Sue Proost Person of the Year Award.
In the announcement, the Chamber recognized Dr. Brown for his “passion for innovation and education” and called him a champion for “career education programs that connect students to real world opportunities bridging the gap between the classroom and the workplace.”
Mayor Bill Hennessy thanked him for the lasting impact he has made on the future of the workforce in O’Fallon and in St. Charles County.
Brown has been integral in creating opportunities for students in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math education, launching the Project Lead The Way pathways in Fort Zumwalt. He has also worked to create Career Technical Education programs that provide students pathways to industry recognized credentials, specifically Fort Zumwalt’s USDOL Certified Apprenticeship Program, that have them life and work ready at graduation.
He and members of the other four St. Charles County school districts also accepted the Chamber’s Excellence in Innovation Award for their collaborative work to bring apprenticeship opportunities to students across St. Charles County.
