
Congratulations to the Class of 2024 recipients of the FZ Education Foundation Grow Your Own Teacher award. North High's Mia Stufflebean and West High's Maddie Wolff and Rylee Kirkman will each receive a forgivable loan from the 501C3 to study to become teachers in high needs areas, then #Work4FZSD Mia plans to be certified in special education. Maddie plans in English language development and Rylee plans in secondary math.

East High theater teacher Kate Wilkinson has been recognized as an outstanding theater educator by both the Missouri Thespians and by the national Educational Theatre Association. This fall Wilkinson, who has been with the district since 2008, was named an International Thespian Society Inspirational Theatre Educator. The award recognizes individuals who have inspired their students, demonstrated exemplary work and dedicated themselves to providing quality theater education. Wilkinson was also named the 2023 Missouri Thespian Outstanding Educator. Congratulations!
