Working together they stocked almost 700 backpacks for families in need, who were able to drive through our annual backpack give-away at West High. Our partners make it possible for every student to be ready for Day 1, which is only about two weeks away. Families in need of assistance should connect with their school counselor or mental health professional. And remember to head to go.FZSD.us/BackToSchool to complete the federal form. Those who qualify for assistance through that process have several resources available to them.
Thank you St. Charles County Economic Development Council for recognizing Zumwalt Apprenticeships as your 2023 Talent Pipeline Initiative award recipient. Andy McHaffie, center, and Pat Brown, second from right, accepted the award for the district's USDOL certified program, one of the largest apprenticeship programs in the country. The Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education recognized longtime #FZSupt Dr. Bernard DuBray as a 2023 Pioneer in Education. He was honored today at the annual Cooperative Conference for School Administrators.
“These individuals are champions for public education in Missouri, striving for excellence and advocating for students throughout their careers,” said Commissioner of Education Margie Vandeven. “DESE is honored to recognize the hard work and dedication of these Pioneers in Education.”
