On Thursday, October 24, Mount Hope Elementary welcomed two special guests who brought energy, excitement, and a powerful message for our students and staff. Fredbird, the beloved St. Louis Cardinals mascot, and former Cardinals pitcher Kyle McClellan, visited the school as part of the Fredbird and Friends Elementary School Program, making for an unforgettable experience for our community.
Fredbird and McClellan kept everyone entertained while sparking some thoughtful conversation around what it means to be a great teammate. Through interactive activities and lively discussions, they encouraged students to think about the qualities of a good teammate and how those values can make a difference in their school and personal lives.
The program highlighted three essential messages: Be Active! Be Responsible! Be Yourself! Fredbird and McClellan shared the importance of staying active, making responsible choices, and being true to oneself, inspiring students to embrace these positive behaviors both in and out of the classroom. The event even included participation opportunities with fun prize giveaways, creating a memorable and engaging experience for everyone involved.
We extend a huge thank you to Fredbird and Kyle McClellan for joining us and supporting our school in building a positive and motivated school community.
