Students raising their right hand and reciting the DARE Oath

This week, Mount Hope Elementary celebrated its 5th Grade DARE Graduation, an event that highlighted the students' hard work and commitment to making positive choices. The ceremony was filled with heartfelt speeches, special awards, and even a playful surprise for Officer Bryan.

Our student speakers—Penny, Ariel, Aiden, and Charlie—did an incredible job crafting and delivering their speeches. Aiden’s speech stood out as the best and earned him the honor of presenting it to the city council at an upcoming meeting, which will also be broadcast on local television. Congratulations, Aiden, on this amazing achievement!

Miss Jordan’s class was also recognized for their outstanding effort in the soda tab collection drive, taking home the coveted trophy for collecting the most tabs.

Officer Bryan, who has been a guiding force throughout the program, honored four students—Aubri, Alaina, Anna, and Sarah—as standout participants. Each received a special Darren the Lion stuffed animal as a token of their achievements.

The ceremony ended with a fun and thoughtful prank on Officer Bryan. As each student received their DARE diploma, they surprised him with a box of Mike and Ikes, his favorite candy, during the traditional handshake. The unexpected gesture brought smiles and laughter to everyone in attendance.

Congratulations to all of our 5th graders for their dedication to the DARE program. We are so proud of their accomplishments and the positive impact they will continue to make in their school and community!
