Mrs. Mulcahy is doing amazing work with her second graders, focusing on building phonics skills while igniting their passion for reading! 📚✨ Her dedication to laying a strong foundation for literacy is truly inspiring. Can't wait to see how these young readers grow and thrive!

Our third graders are diving into division and mastering new strategies to solve problems! They’re growing their confidence by explaining their strategies to peers and learning that there’s more than one way to solve a problem! These budding mathematicians are building a strong foundation for success, one strategy at a time. Keep up the fantastic work, third grade!

In our kindergarten math classes, students are truly shining as they proudly show their thinking and knowledge! Through hands-on activities, partner discussions, and problem-solving tasks, they are demonstrating a strong understanding of foundational math concepts. Whether using manipulatives to count, drawing pictures to represent numbers, or explaining their strategies aloud, each student is growing in confidence and independence.
Their excitement to share their ideas, learn from one another, and persevere through challenges shows their incredible potential. It’s inspiring to witness their growth and celebrate their success as young mathematicians!

All activities and facilities usage in Fort Zumwalt School District are canceled today, Jan. 10, 2025.

Dear Fort Zumwalt families,
Out of an abundance of caution, the district will use an AMI Day on Thursday, Jan. 9, 2025. District leaders have been monitoring conditions across the district all day and, though things are much improved in many areas, a number of roads remain hazardous and, in quite a few neighborhoods, even impassable. Thank you to our maintenance and custodial team members, who have put great effort into preparing our buildings for staff and students to return. It has been more than 10 years since our community has dealt with a storm like this, and we appreciate their efforts to have campuses ready. High school students and families should watch for an email update from your school tomorrow, Jan. 9. Students Pre-K - 8 are already scheduled to be off Friday for a Records Day. Thank you for your patience as we are all working through this winter weather together.
Pre-K through 5 - AMI Packet No. 3
6 - 12 Login to Canvas

🌟 Mrs. Reed’s 5th-grade class had a blast exploring physical and chemical reactions today by making their own bread and butter! 🍞🧈
Through this hands-on activity, students experienced both physical and chemical changes firsthand. Mixing ingredients and kneading dough was a great way to demonstrate physical changes, while the fermentation and rising of the dough highlighted some fun chemical reactions. Churning cream to make butter was an exciting example of a physical change, where the cream transforms into butter with a little mechanical agitation.
Such a fun and delicious way to learn about science! 🤓🍽️ #HandsOnLearning #ScienceInAction #PhysicalAndChemicalReactions

This season, our Firebirds are focused on kindness! 💖✨
A special shoutout to Mrs. Bauer for spreading joy by creating personalized ornaments for our incredible paraprofessionals. 🎄🎁 Your thoughtful gesture reminds us how small acts of kindness can make a big impact. Let’s continue to celebrate kindness in all we do this season. How will you spread kindness today? 🌟
